About this ritual
On the western shore of Lake Žaliasis in the Verkiai Regional Park sits a hand-built birch log sauna cabin, operated by the same family for three generations. Wood-fired with alder, the sauna takes ninety minutes to reach temperature. The lake is the cold plunge — black, still, and around six degrees from October through April. A birch whisk is included. No shortcuts here.
