About this ritual
Built in 1962 as a neighbourhood public bathhouse (pirtis) and closed in 1991, Pirtis 19 reopened in 2021 stripped back to its raw bones — original dark tile, original vaulted ceiling, restored steam room, new Finnish kiuas. No music. No spa aesthetic. A cold steel barrel at 8°C. The smell of birch and hot stone. The city's most unpretentious private sauna.
